International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)

About

An international science olympiad for students aged 15 and under, covering physics, chemistry and biology. Pakistan sent six students in 2025 and won a bronze medal.

Age and grade requirements are pending confirmation from the official source.

Past PSF notices invited science students aged 13–16 who had completed middle school; check the current PSF notice for exact rules.

How students get in

Through Pakistan’s national selection process.

Pakistan’s team is selected by the Pakistan Science Foundation (Ministry of Science and Technology), which advertises the national selection and shortlists candidates for a test and interview.
